A check before a file leaves your hands
BeforeShare helps you see hidden file metadata before you send a photo or document. You can inspect the supported fields, make a cleaned copy, and decide what to share. The aim is a more informed last check, not a promise that every risk disappears.
How the tool works
- Choose a file on your device and inspect the metadata BeforeShare can read.
- Clean the supported metadata in your browser and download a separate copy.
- Review the downloaded file, including its visible content, before sharing it.
Files stay in your browser
The normal inspection and cleanup workflow processes file contents locally; it does not upload the selected file to BeforeShare. The website still uses hosting logs, limited product events, cookies and advertising services. The privacy page explains those separately.
What we support
- JPEG, PNG and WebP images: supported embedded metadata such as location and creator fields.
- PDF files: supported document properties such as author, creator and dates.
- DOCX files: supported document properties such as author, company and editing information.
Where the boundary is
Cleaning does not redact visible text, faces, watermarks or screenshots. It cannot remove copies already sent to a platform, and no tool can guarantee that every possible hidden field or provenance signal is gone. Keep your original and check the cleaned copy with the receiving app when privacy matters.
Evidence you can inspect
We publish downloadable synthetic files, measured results and a repeatable method for a small JPEG, PNG and WebP cleanup study. Those results describe the tested files and browser workflow; they do not certify every real-world file or format.
Who runs BeforeShare
BeforeShare is built and maintained by TuliAI. It is free to use without an account or paid tier. Advertising on the site covers running costs and is separate from the file workflow. For questions, bug reports or press, write to worthit.tuliai@gmail.com. Please do not email sensitive files.
